URGENT UPDATE FROM ROWAN TREE PRACTICE - 1st April 2020 Posted on 1 Apr 2020

During the outbreak of COVID-19 and to prevent the spread of infection, we have made changes to our appointments booking system alongside our normal Duty Doctor Service.

Please note the Entrance Door to the Surgery is locked with an intercom system in place for you to speak to a receptionist who cannot admit you into the building unless you have an appointment and have been invited to attend a face2face appointment with a GP/Nurse.

PRESCRIPTIONS

If you unable to order your repeat prescriptions via our on-line service, please be aware that we have a post box at the bottom of the ramp.  We are sharing the post box with Church Street Practice so PLEASE LABEL YOUR REQUEST clearly stating ‘ROWAN TREE PRACTICE.

APPOINTMENTS

ALL appointments are being telephone triaged in the first instance – please call reception on 01932 505230 to make an appointment or speak to the receptionists with any general enquiries.

If you have made an appointment, the GP will call you on the number listed on your records. Following your telephone conversation and if the GP/Nurse invites you to attend the surgery please arrive at your given appointment time and STAY IN YOUR CAR awaiting further instructions via your mobile regarding Admission to the surgery.

Please be aware that the GPs occasionally run late so please be advised that they will call you as close to the appointment time as possible.

  1. If you are due to attend the surgery for a Nurses appointment but have developed a high temperature (37.8C or higher) or have a new continuous cough. PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND THE SURGERY BUT REQUEST YOUR APPOINTMENT TO BE VIA TELEPHONE LINK. Please stay home and self-isolate for 7 days from the onset of your symptoms regardless of your travel history or contact with confirmed cases.

    

Please log on to NHS111 Online https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid19 if you have serious symptoms that cannot be managed at home or have had no improvement of your symptoms after 7 days. Only ring NHS111 if you cannot get online. Please note a cough may persist for several weeks for some people.

During this difficult time, the safety of our Patients and Staff members is our highest priority. As the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak evolves, we are taking all necessary precautions to ensure this. We are closely monitoring updates in order to act quickly and following advice from the World Health Organisation, Public Health England and Surrey Heartlands CCG.

EXPECTED GOVERNMENT LETTERS

We understand the letters expected by our patients who are listed as vulnerable patients are slow to arrive and causing frustration for patients with limited access to services due to self-isolation.
